Job description

Position: Assistant Front Office Manager / Duty Manager

Client: Serene Sarovar Premiere Hotel – Hargeisa

Department: Front Office

Reporting To: Front Office Manager / General Manager

1. Objective of the Role

To ensure effective front office operations and overall hotel control during assigned shifts,

with strong focus on guest handling, operational coordination, and revenue optimization.

Skills and qualifications

2. Candidate Profile (Mandatory Requirements

A. Experience

- Minimum 4–6 years in Front Office Operations

- Minimum 2 years in supervisory role

- Experience in 4-star or 5-star hotel environment

- Experience in guest complaint handling, shift operations, team supervision, and

reservations management

Note: Profiles with only receptionist-level experience should not be considered.

B. Education

- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field

- Additional certifications are an advantage

C. Systems & Technical Skills

- Knowledge of PMS systems (IDS preferred)

- Familiarity with reservations, night audit, and reporting

D. Languages

- English (mandatory)

- Somali (mandatory)

- Arabic (preferred)

3. Core Competency Requirements

- Guest handling and service recovery

- Operational control during shifts

- Leadership and supervision

- Decision-making under pressure

- Interdepartmental coordination

4. Key Responsibilities

- Manage front office operations during shifts

- Handle guest complaints

- Supervise reception and lobby

- Coordinate with departments

- Monitor room inventory and revenue

- Manage VIP guests

- Prepare reports and shift handovers

5. Screening Criteria

- Submit only 5–8 qualified candidates

- Provide summary including experience, systems knowledge, and guest handling examples

6. Disqualification Criteria

- Less than 4 years experience

- No supervisory exposure

- Weak communication skills

- No experience in standard hotels

7. Deliverables

- Shortlisted CVs (5–8 candidates)

- Salary expectations and availability
