VACANTY ANNOUNCEMENT: ENGLISH LECTURER

BEDER INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – HARGEISA, SOMALILAND

Beder International University (BIU) invites qualified and committed candidates to apply for the position of English Lecturer. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching and student skills enhancement during the fresh years.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English courses to undergraduate students within the university.
• Prepare lesson plans, assessments and learning materials.
• Support students in developing strong academic writing, reading, speaking and listening skills.
• Participate in curriculum review and improvement processes.
• Contribute to faculty meetings, workshops and academic activities.
• Maintain high standards of teaching and student engagement.

Skills and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Language Teaching (ELT) or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Previous 3+ years of teaching experience of English language.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty members and contribute to academic quality.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement abilities.
• Ability to use modern teaching methods and technology-enhanced learning tools.
• Commitment to professionalism, punctuality and academic integrity.
