Dr. Sumait Hospital, SIMAD University, is pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Internal Medicine – Evening Doctor. We are seeking a qualified and experienced physician to support our evening clinical operations and contribute to our commitment to high-quality patient care in Mogadishu.

This opportunity offers clinical engagement at a leading teaching and research hospital, with access to academic platforms through SIMAD University.

Position Title: Internal Medicine – Evening Doctor

Location: Dr. Sumait Hospital, Mogadishu, Somalia

Affiliation: SIMAD University – Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences

Working Hours: Evening Shift (5:00 PM – 11:00 PM), 6 days/week

Application Deadline: 31 October 2025, 11:59 PM (Somalia Time)

Key Responsibilities:

·       Diagnose and manage acute and chronic internal medicine cases during evening hours.

·       Provide both inpatient and outpatient medical care.

·       Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and effective treatment plans.

·       Supervise junior doctors and provide clinical support to interns and nursing staff.

·       Participate in patient handover meetings and maintain proper clinical documentation.

Skills and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

•        Medical Doctor (MD) with specialization in Internal Medicine.
•       Minimum of 2 years of post-specialization clinical experience.
•       Valid medical license or eligibility to practice in Somalia.
•        Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
•        Ability to work independently during evening shifts.
•        Good communication and teamwork capabilities.
•       Teaching experience or interest in clinical training is an added advantage.
