direct supervision of the Boresha Program Manager, the WASH Officer- Engineer
will involve leading the oversight of all engineering processes for
constructions shallow wells within the DRC-BORESHA WASH Activities, ensuring
they are of high quality, sustainable, community demanded, and
community-managed, in line with stipulated SPHERE and Local WASH standards Your main duties and responsibilities will be: Provide technical support during the design, planning and
implementation of all WASH activities and providing input into technical
designs, bid documents and implementation of the construction works. Create detailed designs for plumbing systems, including layout,
sizing, and material selection for pipes, fittings, and fixtures and Ensure
that all plumbing designs meet local and national plumbing codes, standards,
and best practices. Lead in the preparation of designs and bill of quantities (BOQ) for
all the existing and emerging WASH technologies and approaches in coordination
with the MEAL function WASH facilities such as solar powered reticulated water
s Develop and update engineering/ construction drawings, monitoring
and supervision checklists for all the WASH infrastructure facilities Support the project manager with initiation and certification of
all technical procurements. Ensure that planning, design and implementation of WASH components
incorporate climate resilience Supervise the day to day activities and ensure it is inline with
DRC quality standard Hold regular progress meetings with contractors to review
project performance and address challenges to implementation. Prepare timely and accurate technical reports on project
activities, outcomes, and challenges, and communicate them to relevant
stakeholders Carry out other additional duties as assigned by line-manager Skills and qualifications Experience
and technical competencies: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the coordination and
supervision of WASH Construction projects Strong knowledge and experience in community education, social
behavioral change projects, organizing and coordinating trainings Knowledge and experience in community-based approaches to promoting
hygiene and sanitation like PHAST, CLTS, SLTS Previous work experience in Host community, refugee/IDP settings
and complex emergencies is an asset. Familiarity with the SPHERE Project and Minimum Standards Capable of training IDPs/HC and motivating community support; Ability to understand the cultural context of the community,
Experience in participatory techniques and community mobilization; Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain and
prioritize work under pressure and able to work in an insecure
environment; Excellent communication skill, preferably with the host community
and IDPs Strong organizational skills and able to coordinate and manage a
diverse array of activities and stakeholders Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain and

environment; Strong facilitation, negotiation and mediation skills and ability
to work independently Report writing skills and computer skills in word processing and
