Cook will support the Head Cook and kitchen team in preparing and serving
nutritious meals for students and staff at Pharo Secondary School Sheikh. The
Assistant Cook will help ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly,
hygienically, and efficiently, maintaining high standards of food safety and
cleanliness Duties and
responsibilities • Assist the Cooks in preparing daily
meals for students and staff according to the school menu and dietary
guidelines. • Wash, peel, chop, cut, and cook food
items as instructed. • Support in portioning and serving
meals to students and staff. • Ensure proper cleaning of kitchen
equipment, utensils, and work areas before, during, and after food preparation. • Help with the storage and safe
handling of food supplies and ingredient Follow all food hygiene and safety
standards as per the school’s health and safety policies. • Assist with receiving and organising
food deliveries and supplies. • Report any food shortages, equipment
faults, or safety hazards to the Head Cook immediately. • Support the Head Cook in managing
leftovers and minimising food waste. • Perform any other kitchen-related
duties assigned by the Head Cook or School Administrator. Skills and qualifications Qualifications
Requirements • Minimum of a secondary school
certificate or equivalent; a certificate in food preparation or catering is an
advantage. • Proven experience working in a
kitchen or food service environment is desirable. • Basic knowledge of food hygiene,
nutrition, and kitchen safety practices. • Ability to follow instructions and
work as part of a team. • Physically fit and able to stand for
long periods and lift moderate weights. • Punctual, reliable, and committed to
maintaining a clean and safe working environment How to apply Application
