and delivers programs coordinated at regional and country levels by dedicated
staff that provides strategic and operational support. Our program offices are
located close to communities so our teams can be responsive to the needs of
local children and their families at the community level. The
Somalia Nexus Accelerator Fund (SNAF) aims to address the intertwined
challenges of conflict and climate change that impact vulnerable populations in
Hudur and Luuq districts of Somalia. The primary goal of the SNAF program is to
support extremely poor and socially marginalized communities in these districts
by strengthening their resilience to shocks and stresses. Through an integrated
approach, combining humanitarian aid, development, and peacebuilding efforts,
the program seeks to achieve sustainable outcomes that build longer-term
resilience in the Gedo and Bakool regions. Somali

program focuses on several key priority areas, including reducing
vulnerability, strengthening resilience to crises, and supporting livelihoods.
Specific areas of intervention include environmental and natural resource
management, food security and livelihood assistance, market access, trade and
financial services, basic social services, and disaster risk management and
preparedness. The
seasonal assessment aims to evaluate the impact of seasonal changes (e.g.,
Gu/Deyr rains, dry spells, floods, etc.) on the food security, livelihoods,
nutrition, and coping strategies of vulnerable populations. This assessment
will inform programming, contingency planning, and targeted support to mitigate
seasonal risks and strengthen community resilience in lluq and Hudur
Districts. The
assessment aligns with the WVI commitment to evidence-based programming and
supports ongoing efforts under the NAF project Objectives

Specific Objectives: ·
To analyse food
availability, access, and utilization during the current season. ·
To evaluate changes in
household income sources and market dynamics. ·
To assess the impact of the
season on crop and livestock production. ·
To identify vulnerable
groups and priority needs for assistance. ·
To provide recommendations
for short- and medium-term interventions. ·
Scope of Work and Key Tasks ·
The consultant/assessment
team will: ·
Review existing secondary
data (e.g., FSNAU, FEWS NET, IPC reports, etc.) ·
Design data collection
tools in collaboration with technical teams. ·
Conduct field data
collection (quantitative and qualitative) in selected sites. ·
Organize and facilitate
community consultations and key informant interviews. ·
Analyse collected data
using appropriate methods. ·
Prepare and present a draft
report for validation. ·
Finalize the assessment
report incorporating feedback from stakeholders. Deliverables ·
