Position Summary
WE-INVEST is looking for two motivated and professional Debt Collectors to join our growing team. The role is responsible for recovering overdue loan repayments, maintaining strong relationships with clients, and supporting the financial health of the institution. The ideal candidate is experienced in microfinance or financial services, highly organized, and effective in communication and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities

·  Follow up with clients on overdue payments through field visits, phone calls, and written communication.

·   Maintain updated records of all collections activities and client interactions.

·   Educate clients about loan repayment terms and consequences of default.

·    Negotiate repayment plans when necessary, in alignment with WE-INVEST’s policies.

·   Identify and report on trends related to defaults and repayment challenges.

·   Work closely with the finance and loan officer teams to coordinate recovery efforts.

·  Provide respectful and ethical customer service while ensuring compliance with collection standards.

·    Prepare and submit regular collection reports to the line manager.

Skills and qualifications

• Qualifications and Requirements
  Minimum of 2 years of experience in debt collection, loan recovery, or related field, preferably in microfinance or financial institutions.
  Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Somali and English.
  Ability to work independently, travel to field locations, and manage time effectively.
  Proven track record of meeting or exceeding collection targets.
  Familiarity with Hargeisa and surrounding regions is an advantage.
  Honest, reliable, and capable of handling sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
  Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word).
