we work. ALIGHT has embarked on WASH, Health, Protection, shelter, and
livelihood activities in lower juba region of Somalia and health and WASH
program in both Banadir, Middle Shabelle Jubaland, Sool region and maroodijeex
of Somaliland expand to other parts of the Country. Alight is taking a
multi-sectoral approach in responding to the severe drought conditions through
a range of activities including Health, Relief Commodities and WASH. The Somalia Program of the Alight has fully-fledged offices in Mogadishu, Kismayo, Dhobley, Afmadow, Hargeisa, and Las Anod
in Somaliland besides a liaison office in Nairobi, Kenya. Alight is working
closely with national and regional authorities and with several Somalia-based
international and national organizations to galvanize coordinated lifesaving
humanitarian assistance to the people in need. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION ALIGHT is implementing the Integrated Relief and Nutrition Project in
Lower Juba. The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for conducting
field-based project activities and coordinating with various project
stakeholders at ALIGHT, including the Livelihoods and Food Security (LFS)
programme, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team, and the Community
Engagement and Accountability (CEA) team. The Mobilizer will be based in
Kismayo and will support activities across all designated project target
locations.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY /PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect quality data on participants including biometrics in accordance
with the WFP scope registration system guideline.
- Make sure that participants’ rough draft list is approved by the village
committee.
- Work and collaborate community relief committees and elders to
fast-track participants registration.
- Distribute and Verify participants identification token before
proceeding the participant registration process.
- Verify participants whether they are part of other similar interventions
that can trigger duplication.
- Cross check participant data with the information provided by the elders
and identification token.
- Conduct sensitization awareness before and during the scope registration
to prevent risks associated with misunderstanding, inclusion, and exclusion
errors.
- Work closely with FSL, Community Mobilizers, and MEL team on
disseminating messages, and reporting accountability incidents.
- Laise with and take part in FSL programme activities as required and
instructed by the FSL team.
- Perform other functions as requested by the immediate supervisor.
Skills and qualifications
- Context/specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Diploma/University Degree is required or high school graduate with
experience in humanitarian:
- Previous work
experience in biometric scope registrations and ability to handle basic
maintenance-related issues.
- Proficiency in computer
software like Word, Excel, and WFP scope database.
- Knowledge in ICT or M&E is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal
skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and negotiation
skills.
- Ability tò exhibit an
exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in the specific local cultural context.
- Fluency in
communication in the Somali language.
