offices, including a coordination office in Mogadishu. CISP Somalia carries out
humanitarian and development projects to provide quality, equitable,
transparent and accountable services in the sectors of Education, Protection,
Culture, Health and Nutrition. CISP is implementing projects funded by
different donors, such as FCDO, UNICEF, EU, AICS, WFP. These projects, through
direct implementation, are serving targeted communities in Mogadishu, Galkacyo,
Hobyo, Gelinsoor, Dhusamareb, Guricel and Abudwak, while local partners support
implementation of projects across Somalia. CISP projects are implemented by a
multi-disciplinary team, including program staff supported by the
administration department based in Mogadishu and Galmudug. Job Purpose: The TVET Specialist will be responsible for
the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) component of the
World Bank-funded "Somalia Empowering Women through Education and Skills
'Rajo Kaaba' Project" in Galmudug, ensuring that training programs in vocational
trainings are relevant to the local labor market and effectively contribute to
youth employment opportunities. Responsibilities: • Design and implement
vocational training programs that meet the needs of both local communities and
the broader labor market. • Provide technical
expertise on TVET curriculum development, ensuring training aligns with market
demands and skills development standards. • Conduct capacity-building activities
for local trainers and facilitators to ensure effective delivery of TVET
programs. • Coordinate with
the Ministry of Education and other partners to ensure the integration of
vocational training with the broader education system. • Quality Assurance: Monitoring and evaluating the
effectiveness of training programs and ensuring compliance with national and
international standards. • Develop partnerships
with private sector, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure
vocational training programs meet local market demands. • Ensure that TVET
training materials and practices are inclusive of gender and vulnerable groups, including people with
disabilities. Skills and qualifications • Master degree in Engineering,
Education, Economics, or a related field. • A minimum of 10 years of experience
in technical and vocational education strengthening, workforce development,
women's skills development, and youth development in countries recovering from
conflict • Experience developing and
implementing effective capacity-strengthening models and approaches for
organizations and individuals. • Strong knowledge and understanding
of the economic, and educational contexts of women and youth in Somalia. • Demonstrated ability to cultivate
relationships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including,
Government departments, donors, the private sector, and community-based
institutions. • Excellent leadership and
interpersonal skills including conflict resolution abilities. • Bring relevant
international experience and research to assist in developing local solutions,
on issues such as strategies to improve foundational literacy and numeracy
outcomes, teacher quality and management efficiency, STEM, infrastructure, TVET
and skills in priority areas, quality improvement and financing of higher
education, and public private partnerships. • Demonstrated ability to
think strategically, plan and manage your own time effectively, prioritize and
meet deadlines. • Sound
understanding and experience in protection mainstreaming and Age, Gender, and
Diversity (AGD) mainstreaming, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and
