of funding for the project.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, adaptation, and implementation
of curricula for literacy, numeracy, life skills, and vocational training
components of the project.
- Ensure that the curriculum is aligned with the needs
of the target demographic, considering local contexts, culture, and
gender-sensitive aspects.
- Develop detailed training modules and instructional
materials that integrate life skills, employability, and vocational training
across sectors such as agriculture, solar energy, fisheries, and community
health work.
- Work with local trainers and facilitators to ensure
the curricula are practical, realistic, and deliverable in the local context.
- Ensure curricula meet national education standards
and World Bank requirements, emphasizing a learner-centered, competency-based
approach.
- Collaborate with the Team Leader, TVET Specialist,
and other project team members to ensure the curricula align with the broader
education and skills training strategy for the project.
- Work closely with key stakeholders, including the
Ministry of Education (MoECHE), local education providers, and private sector
actors, to ensure curricula are aligned with labor market demands.
- Provide technical training to local educators and
trainers on the effective delivery of the curricula, ensuring they understand
the methodology, content, and objectives.
- Develop and deliver capacity-building programs for
teachers, trainers, and facilitators to ensure high-quality delivery of the
training programs.
- Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation
(M&E) team to develop indicators for assessing the success and impact of
the curricula and training programs.
- Participate in the preparation of progress reports
for stakeholders, ensuring that curriculum development activities are
accurately reflected in monitoring reports.
- Regularly monitor the implementation of
curriculum-based programs and adjust strategies to improve learning outcomes
and align with project goals.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local
stakeholders and government agencies.
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team and ensure
quality service provision.
Skills
and qualifications
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

- At least 8 years of experience in program
management, coordination, proposal development, and reporting.
- Master’s degree in education, Curriculum
Studies/Development, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
- Additional qualifications or certifications in
educational design, teaching, or instructional technology would be an
advantage.
- Experience in overseeing programs that provide
education and skills training to adult learners and young women in rural areas.
- Experience working with World Bank-funded projects
or similar donor-funded initiatives.
- Strong cultural sensitivity and experience working
with people from various backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, plan
and manage your own time effectively, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Sound understanding and experience in protection
mainstreaming and Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) mainstreaming,
Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and Prevention of Sexual
Exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
- Proficiency in evaluating programs and materials,
establishing student support systems, implementing assessment strategies, and
managing administrative systems.
- In-depth knowledge of and insights into accelerated
basic education and training in Somalia.
- Demonstrated experience in team management,
including previous experience in the direct line management of staff.
