Job Requirement | Duties and Responsibilities: v Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices: Provide training and
capacity building on climate-smart techniques, including efficient water
management and soil conservation, to targeted farmers. v Crop Varieties and Inputs: Promote the adoption of
climate-resilient crop varieties suitable for drought and extreme weather.
Provide training and essential inputs such as seeds and fertilizers. v Farming Support: Facilitate access to tractor hours, post-harvest
training, and other farming inputs to enhance productivity. v Local Storage Systems: Develop and support local storage systems
and kits through community training and production. v Market Linkages: Create market linkage platforms to connect
producer groups with potential buyers and transporters. Support the formation
and strengthening of agricultural cooperatives and vendor groups. v Natural Resource Management: Implement soil and water conservation
measures, including rehabilitation of water sources and irrigation systems. v Crop Varieties and Inputs: Promote the adoption of
climate-resilient crop varieties suitable for drought and extreme weather.

and strengthening of agricultural cooperatives and vendor groups. v Skills and Qualifications v Extensive Experience in agronomy, with a focus on climate-smart
agricultural practices, farmer training, and horticulture drip irrigation. v Proven expertise in training farmers on climate-smart techniques,
promoting climate-resilient crop varieties, and managing agricultural inputs. v Experience in developing local storage systems and creating market
linkages for producer groups. v Knowledge of natural resource management, including soil and water
conservation measures. v Experience with humanitarian and development programs; experience
with UN or INGOs is preferred. v Strong understanding of gender transformative programming, climate
resilience, and community-based approaches. Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and
support for water management and conservation activities, addressing engineering
challenges as they arise. Community Engagement: Work closely with local
communities to ensure effective implementation of water conservation practices
and address their specific need Qualifications: Education: degree of
Agriculture with three year experienced, supplemented with experience or
additional education in education, social services, nutrition, agriculture or
another related field. Experience: A minimum of 3
years of progressive working experience in an international project setting is
required. Project implementation experience in Somalia is a strong asset. Language: Fluency in both oral
and written communication in English and Arabic. Knowledge: Experience utilizing
computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other software packages. Attributes Interpersonal o The ability to interact with people at all levels in the
organization. ·

to identify and resolve a problem in the best interest of all stakeholders. ·
